Player Safety Policy

Safe Sessions.
No Gray Areas.

Private training only works if parents trust it completely. This page spells out exactly how I run every session, where it happens, who is there, and what you can expect from me. These rules apply to every player, every session, no exceptions.

Public and visible

Every session is on an open field or park where other people are around. Never behind a closed door.

Pairs by default

Players train two at a time. If a session is one-on-one, a parent or another adult is there the whole time.

Parents always welcome

You can stay and watch any session, any time, without asking. Most parents do.

Where and how we train

01
Public, visible locations only

Sessions happen on public fields and parks in the Ogden area. No closed indoor spaces, no locker rooms, no private residences, no cars. I confirm the exact location with you before every session.

02
Pairs are the standard format

Two players per session is the default. It is better training (competitive reps, a partner to pass with) and it means no player is ever alone with me. I only schedule a one-on-one when a parent or another adult will be on site for the whole session.

03
Parents are welcome to stay

You never need permission to watch. Bring a chair. If you drop off and leave, that is fine too, as long as the rules below are followed. Sessions run one hour (45 minutes for players 12 and under) and start and end on time, so plan pick-up accordingly.

Drop-off, pick-up, and communication

04
Signed parent consent before the first session

A parent or legal guardian completes the online consent form before a player can book. It covers your phone number, an emergency contact, and your written okay. Players under 18 cannot be booked without it.

05
Text at the start and end of every session

I text you when the session begins and when it ends. That creates a time-stamped record for both of us.

06
No rides, ever

I do not drive players, even if a ride falls through. If a pick-up is late, I wait in the open with your player until you arrive.

07
A parent is on every text thread

Every message with a player includes a parent. Scheduling, reminders, and feedback go to you first. No private one-to-one messaging with minors.

08
Payment from parents only

You pay me directly, cash or Venmo. Payment never comes from a player.

For high school players and their families

I also coach at the high school level. To keep that completely separate from private training:

09
Open to everyone, pushed on no one

Private sessions are open to the public. I never suggest them to a player on a team I coach. Families find this page on their own.

10
Zero effect on the team

Booking private training, or not booking it, has no effect on roster decisions, positions, or playing time. Those are earned at team practice and in games, period.

11
No sessions during UHSAA moratorium dates

Utah High School Activities Association rules restrict coach contact during set moratorium periods. I do not schedule private sessions with high school players on those dates.

Something feel off? If anything about a session ever concerns you, tell me directly, and you are always free to raise it with your club or school athletic director. Open questions are welcome. That is the whole point of writing this down.

Ready to train?

Step one is the parent consent form. It takes about two minutes. After that, book any open time.
